I’m on a roll now! Only 20 days to catch up on. I’m not that far behind. 🙂
This is from the same day last week as the Three Birds – hey, at least I’m posting! There were three large Blue Herons by the water hanging out with the seagulls. Their size was so impressive. At one point all three flew across the sky together but I wasn’t fast enough to get a clear photo of them. It was my first day using the Nikon so I was still very much learning settings and such.
I caught this big guy flying between the rocks on the shore to the spot on the grass where his seagull friends were relaxing. The sun had set and it was getting pretty cold out. Focal length 300mm, f/5.6, exposure +1, 1/1,250. I applied some post process editing to bring out the purple and pinks in the sky and to sharpen it up a bit.
It’s good to know these birds hang out down there now that it’s staying lighter longer. Hopefully I can catch some really good photos of them that aren’t silhouettes.
See you on the other side of the lens.
