Jes of JSPhotography in Tucson, AZ has this campaign – Body Image(s) – What a fabulous project!
As a typical women in my early 40s (dang I got old!) body image is definitely something I’ve struggled with. In my early 20s a pretty serious illness that left me bedridden for an entire month, both in hospital and out, took all my muscle mass away from me and when I began my road to health again, I’ve never been/looked the same since.
I used to have a dancers body, lean with great calf muscles (my favorite, odd I know). But I’ve grown and aged, found out years ago I have Hypothyoidism, which slows down my metabolism (lovely) and I absolutely, positively LOVE FOOD! I’ve dieted, exercised and tried so many fad things that it’s exhausting.
What this Photographer is doing is wonderful! She CELEBRATES and helps us celebrate our own bodies. She captures them forever on digital film and allows these women to see that no matter their size, color, scars, tattoos, rolls, cellulite, hair color, freckles or whatever – that THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY THEY ARE! Please visit this link and see the beauty in everyone around you. Please share to show all the young ladies, (and young men) that they don’t have to be perfect, because just being themselves – they already are perfect.
