Essential Oils: What Can They Do for You?

In trying to find natural solutions to some of the aging concerns I’m having as I grow older, I’ve found my latest “obsession” in essential oils.

I researched some natural options for my skin that utilize essential oils and I have found that Frankincense is probably my skins best friend! I created a light facial toner using both Frankincense and Lavender to reduce swelling, fine lines, and redness after I remove my makeup. I just shake and spritz it all over my face after removing makeup and drying.

I also created daytime and nighttime facial serums to help me turn back time on the wrinkles on my face. *insert Cher’s Turn Back Time here* My daytime serum is wonderful to use in the morning, as I don’t normally wear makeup to work. It’s natural oils soak into my skin rather quickly, as it’s a lighter oil than my nighttime serum. If you do wear makeup to work, make sure to apply the serum and allow to fully soak in before applying makeup.

The nighttime serum I created utilizes my own Rose Hip Oil, which was organically harvested and created by me, myself and I, from our rose garden. Super easy and fun to make and I loved the aroma that filled our house while I was making it. My nighttime serum is a thicker oil, as the Rose Hip Oil is a thicker oil in it’s own right, and I apply it all over my face. I pay special attention to the areas around my eyes and lips as that’s where I’m beginning to see those fine lines. When I wake in the morning, my skin is so soft and supple, I absolutely love it! It really helps to combat the cold, dryness of the Buffalo winter air that’s for sure!

I also use essential oils in my diffuser at night in our bedroom for either relaxation, mental clarity or better breathing. I love to add Peppermint or Eucalyptus to our humidifier on the nights I don’t use the diffuser. Certainly helps us breathe better throughout the night.

I’ve also created several other recipes for different skin conditions. I created an Eczema serum for a friend who get itching attacks, mostly at night, on her feet. She applies the serum at the first onset of itchiness and it helps to eliminate her outbreak and allows her to sleep peacefully.

I created an acne serum that naturally helps to reduce acne, and it’s red scars, without the harsh chemicals in the over the counter remedies.

Next I worked to fine tune an anti-inflammatory serum for my boyfriend who hurt his knee a couple weeks ago. The swelling is taking a long time to reduce, and since he is against putting chemicals into his system, I created the all natural remedy to help reduce the swelling in his knee.

I suffer from headaches and migraines, so of course I created a headache relief serum. I haven’t had an opportunity to use it yet, thankfully, but when I do get a headache, I will certainly give this one a go! Anything to reduce the amount of Ibuprofen I add to my stomach the better.

I am currently researching ways to help my hair grow stronger and be healthier. Just received a couple new carrier oils that I will be utilizing for this creation! Can’t wait to get started on this one.

If you’re looking for an all natural, essential oil product, comment below and let me know! I’ll see what I can work up.
